Can you feel it? Spring is almost here! But before you bound out the door for some outdoor fun, wouldn’t you feel better if your home was in tip-top shape? Yes…it’s time for spring cleaning. We know it’s not #1 on your list of “Things To Do”, but there’s a really good feeling you get when you have completed a thorough spring cleaning of your home. Here are a few tips to help you on your way, courtesy of the home maintenance experts at Handyman Connection:
Create a Checklist
Not sure where to start with your spring cleaning tasks? Consult the internet for a wealth of cleaning checklists and tailor one to fit the needs of your home. We found a great one here!
Be Realistic
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and you can’t thoroughly clean your home in one day, either. Set realistic goals for yourself, such as, “today, i’m going to clean the first floor windows” or “this weekend, the kids will clean out their closets”. Okay…maybe that one is a little far-fetched.
Call in the Reinforcements
You aren’t the only one living in that house, are you? Get the whole crew on board the spring cleaning express and channel your inner Project Manager. Task out specific duties to kids, spouses and/or housemates. Everyone benefits from a clean living space, so everyone should contribute!
Make Sure you Have a Complete (Cleaning) Arsenal
Prior to beginning, review your checklist and make sure you have any and all materials needed to properly perform the task. If you have to constantly interrupt your progress to make a run to the store for cleaning supplies, you’ll never get your spring cleaning done in a timely manner…and that’s the key…it’s in the name, SPRING cleaning.
We hope these tips help you with your spring cleaning tasks. If you need additional help, you can call on Handyman Connection for all of your general home maintenance needs.
